Learning Commons aka Library!
A traditional library was seen as a place where people worked in silence.  A Learning Commons moves school libraries into the 21st century. The traditional texts are there, people are reading and there is a librarian (part time) however the Learning Commons has a little twist to the learning! The idea will be have the library as place where students talking, learning, searching for information on a variety of devices, focusing on content creation and synthesizing of information. I hope that the Learning Commons will become the hub and the heart of the school; a place for teachers and teacher-librarians to collaborate to build inquiry learning and critical thinking skills in students; a place for technology integration and experimentation; a place that is ‘owned’ by students and staff alike.  To that end a new webpage blog has been started to keep you informed of what’s happening in the learning common area.
